Answers to common questions
What to expect for you before your first visit:
- If we receive a doctor’s referral, phone call, email or note from the scheduler on the website from you to schedule an initial appointment. We will give you a phone call to make sure you don’t have any questions and you will receive a link in an email to fill out all the necessary patient information before your appointment so we have the full 60 minutes to get to know you and treat you on day one. If we have more than 24 hours before your first appointment we will look up your insurance benefits and let you know what they are before you arrive as a courtesy as well. No surprises!
Treatments and visits:
- Your treatment time frame and visits per week will be based on the recommendation from your MD and your treating Physical Therapist
What to wear:
- Comfortable athletic clothes (shorts if it is your knee or lower, or short sleeves for upper limb issues preferred) and closed-toed shoes are best.
When to arrive:
- We ask that patients arrive 10 minutes early for their first appointment.
Length of appointments:
- Therapy sessions last about an hour! Our focus is on you!
Cancelation policy:
- If you have to cancel an appointment, we have a 24-hour notice grace period, and we understand emergencies — please let us know if you can.
Therapist scheduling:
- We try to stay as consistent as possible with therapist and patient assignments. If you are going to be seen by another therapist, it is usually due to a specific time slot needed by the patient. Do not worry! We review the schedule every morning and discuss any patient we may see from another therapist — ensuring your therapy is seamless.
Please reach out with any other questions — we are happy to answer them!
Insurance Coverage
We are contracting with the following insurance companies at this time to be in network with them. Aetna, Cigna, UHC, BCBSNC, Humana, Wellcare, Medicare, if you have health insurance coverage please ask if we are in the network, as this is an ever-changing landscape.
What does my insurance cover? We will check your insurance benefits before your appointment after you fill out your online onboarding forms so we know what to expect before your 1st appointment.
Patients using insurance coverage generally have 1-4 types of payment responsibility that we will try our best to explain simply. Ultimately the cost of your visit will depend on the Physical Therapy codes your therapist bills- we bill the physical therapy codes that correlate with the scientific evidence-based best treatment we provide.
DEDUCTIBLE: If you have not met your insurance yearly deductible let’s say $500 then you will be responsible for paying the full amount per visit until your deductible is met. (If you have been to the doctor/hospital recently they may take longer to bill you than we would, so when we check your benefits it may say you still owe your deductible, We would still be required to collect from you at your appointment, we promise you will not be double billed if a refund needs to be issued it will be! Our billers handle this situation all the time)
COPAY: Your insurance policy for Physical Therapy may have a fixed $ amount per visit that you are required to pay each visit for example 25$.
CO-Insurance: A payment that is a % of the visit charge. A 10% co-insurance of a 140$ visit would mean you were responsible for 14$ per visit essentially.
Self Pay:Â Our self-pay rate- if patients do not have insurance or choose not to use insurance our rate will be in line with our reimbursement rates for similar procedures or treatments covered by insurance.
Non-insurance covered procedures: Your insurance company may not cover certain treatments that we believe are in the best interest of your recovery. Simple examples are our Patient App (where you will receive your Home exercises and have communication with your PT outside of appointments. Evidence shows better outcomes with increased access to care!) Dry Needling, Cupping, Electric Stimulation or Taping. We want our patients to get better! We are not going to “overcharge” you to perform these essential treatments because of their value but you may see small charges that cover costs related to these services.
We look forward to getting to know you, treat you, and get you feeling better.Â
